Guest: Maurício Santoro, PhD in Political Science from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro, Iuperj. The American government has an action plan ready for Venezuela should Nicolás Maduro leave power, according to what the Pentagon disclosed this Tuesday (2). The US Department of Defense made the statement days after the ultimatum given by Donald Trump to the Venezuelan president expired: according to the Reuters news agency, the American gave until November 28 for Maduro to leave Venezuela. In this episode, Victor Boyadjian talks with Maurício Santoro, PhD in Political Science from the University Research Institute of Rio de Janeiro, Iuperj. Santoro points out how Trump placed himself in a political "trap" by escalating pressure against the Maduro regime. And analyzes internal pressures in the US regarding the attacks made by the Trump administration on boats in the Caribbean. A collaborator at the Center for Political-Strategic Studies of the Brazilian Navy, Santoro explains how the US stance towards Maduro represents a change in the American government's position in Latin America. And clarifies Brazil's situation in the face of a possible US invasion of the neighboring country and conflict on Venezuelan soil.

The Block: Gyda-app, Extreme FOMO & Tickling in the bumFrom 🇳🇴 Nesten hele uka med Lepperød, published at 2025-12-03 03:05
Martin is back in the studio for this week's Blokka! Since last time, he has followed the spectacle surrounding Gyda Oddekalv's democracy app, which features both a paywall and gambling. Even more surprisingly, he finds it that Gyda isn't crying in her explanation video on Instagram. Martin and Maren had a romantic, child-free hotel night that was supposed to culminate in a restaurant visit, but ended with a mediocre dinner at a 70% closed restaurant. In addition, Martin has felt a brutal FOMO – the kind where “everyone in the group is going to Tusenfryd except you”. And in their segment, Martin talks about everything from butt tickling, to how to tell someone you like them, and a bit about spicy food.

One place in IndiaFrom 🇮🇱 אחד ביום (Echad Ba'Yom), published at 2025-12-03 03:00
A post-army trip is not a new thing. The desire to get a little distance from home, find peace, and breathe, is very familiar to discharged soldiers - especially after the last two years. But sometimes it's precisely the distance and silence that stir up difficulties, bringing up emotions they don't always know how to put into words. In Israel, there are already various solutions - but what about the tens of thousands abroad who experience symptoms they don't know how to deal with? For these travelers, "HaMakom" (The Place) was established: a center for mental health assistance for Israelis in India. This time, we are with Hezi Shochat, one of the center's founders, and Shaked Katz, a discharged reserve soldier, to talk about the Israeli corner that emerged in the middle of India and became a home, even if just for a moment, for combatants and survivors who find themselves far from home and coping with mental distress.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After the great fire: Hong Kong's 'untamed' civil societyFrom 🇨🇳 不明白播客, published at 2025-12-02 23:00
A fire that broke out on the afternoon of November 26 at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong, touched the hearts of many. This fire, which erupted in a densely populated high-rise community, burned for two full days, only being extinguished on the evening of the 28th. As of December 2, the catastrophe claimed 156 lives, including one firefighter who died in the line of duty, with 79 injured and over 30 missing. When the fire was extinguished, the smoke on the public opinion battlefield had just begun to rise. We witnessed an absurd "bamboo scaffolding controversy": mainland official media and the Hong Kong government quickly echoed each other, attempting to transform a regulatory man-made disaster into a false proposition of "technological backwardness." We also saw how, after the promulgation of the National Security Law, the Hong Kong political sphere's obsession with "maintaining stability" far surpassed disaster relief: from the Liaison Office of the National Security Commission in Hong Kong issuing a Cultural Revolution-esque statement to the police taking away students who called for an independent investigation. But above this high-pressure wreckage, we also saw the untamed soul of Hong Kong. Citizens spontaneously developed "report safety" apps, provided overnight material support, and queued to lay flowers, with that long-lost self-organizing capacity of civil society, similar to 2019, re-emerging. Why is Beijing so afraid of this "love for fellow citizens" stemming from human nature? When "mourning" becomes "soft resistance," and "accountability" becomes "black violence," how should Hongkongers protect each other in the cracks of authoritarianism? In this episode of Un понятно Live, we invited three Hong Kong guests to take us from the vested interests behind bamboo scaffolding, to the collapse of professionalism, and then to question how Hongkongers can find a way to survive in a "politicized disaster." The first is Anna Kwok, Senior Analyst at the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), who was formerly a spokesperson for "Keyboard Frontline." The second is Sanho Chung, a postdoctoral researcher at National Taiwan Normal University, who previously served as an editorial board member for *Flow Magazine* and focuses on research into Hong Kong's political development and social change. The third is Kris Cheng, an independent journalist who previously worked for Voice of America's Cantonese service.Click to watch the full live broadcast replay:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnElrMAV_dMTimeline:02:34 Guest Sharing: As Hongkongers, what are your thoughts after this major fire?06:17 The beginning and end of the "bamboo scaffolding" controversy: How did it evolve into a China-Hong Kong ideological dispute? 10:02 Systemic collapse: How have vested interests and regulatory failures persisted for so long? 12:18 The silencing of professionalism: Why is it said that Hong Kong now only has "government agents," and are professional bodies still active? 15:56 Chief Executive John Lee's "thank you list": Why was the first reaction to thank Xi Jinping? 16:51 Hong Kong's grassroots self-help and material mobilization22:08 Is queuing to lay flowers simply mourning, or a silent form of political resistance? 25:37 Official characterization: Why equate public calls for an "independent investigation" with "black violence"? 27:00 The Liaison Office of the National Security Commission in Hong Kong's "Cultural Revolution-esque" statement: Has Hong Kong's governance logic undergone a "genetic mutation"?38:07 The era of pan-politicization: Why is all criticism framed as "endangering national security"?44:50 The first disaster after the National Security Law: A true sense of "living under authoritarianism"? 48:53 Listener Question: Following the Greater Bay Area integration trend, will Hong Kong be fully "China-standardized" within ten years? 53:30 "Care Teams" enter the scene: Are they to comfort families, or are they "Chaoyang Masses"?57:48 Will any officials step down because of this fire? 01:01:12 Under the shadow of the National Security Law, what else can Hongkongers do? Is there still room for resistance?01:11:36 Recommendation: Hong Kong independent media are still speaking outRelated LinksKris Cheng's X account: https://x.com/krislcAnna Kwok's X account: https://x.com/chungchingkwongSanho Chung's X account: https://x.com/sanhochung Hosted on Acast. Could Your Company Benefit from Fastvertising? From 🇺🇸 HBR IdeaCast, published at 2025-12-02 13:00
It's harder than ever for companies to get their marketing messages in front of the right customers. One increasingly popular -- but also risky -- tactic is fastvertising, the rapid development of ads that tap into a cultural moment, aiming to increase brand relevance and awareness. Harvard Business School associate professor Ayelet Israeli shares pitch-perfect examples, including those from her coauthor, the actor Ryan Reynolds, and his marketing firm Maximum Effort. She explains the importance of timing, describes the talent, culture, and processes you need to succeed, and outlines how to extend the impact of these ads. Ayelet, along with Leonard Schlesinger, Matt Higgins, and Ryan Reynolds, wrote the HBR article "Marketing at the Speed of Culture."

How to do business with friends without losing them | MM EP.2556From 🇹🇭 Mission To The Moon, published at 2025-12-02 13:00
Many people often warn, "Don't do business with friends." Because when you're friends, everything seems easy. Each person understands their own way without needing much explanation. But once you start working, you realize you don't always think alike. Things not discussed from the beginning can become small points that cause both the work and the relationship to unexpectedly stumble. But on the other hand, friends can also be the people we trust and work best with. Today, I'd like to invite you to look closely at where the risks of doing business with friends lie, and if you're going to start together, what needs to be discussed clearly from the beginning, so that the business can move forward and the friendship remains intact. #Business #Friends #Podcast #podcast #missiontothemoon #missiontothemoonpodcast
