Betterov is a musician, songwriter and, for me, one of the most exciting German-speaking artists of his generation. On his new album "Große Kunst" he tells the story of his father, who fled the GDR in 1989 – and thus also the story of an entire generation. I wanted to know from Betterov how much his background influences his art and how he decided to dedicate an album to the "Ostrelikten". We talk about origins, corporal punishment in school, violence in youth, his path from industrial mechanic to musician, about freedom, responsibility and why he prefers to sing about his father's dictatorship than to produce the next algorithm hit. Dot doesn't know what's been going on with her son Stephen lately. Just a few months ago, the 18-year-old was an academic high-flyer at school, popular with girls, and on track for a career in the Royal Air Force. Now he sits apathetically at the dining table. In her book "Cancer - The End of a Fear", Hanna explains, based on current research results, why we need to better understand cancer to protect ourselves from it and what the future of cancer research and prevention may look like. I wanted to know from Hanna why we get cancer, what role our genes play in it, and why, according to her book, around half of all cancers are avoidable nowadays.
