Some Peronist figures have come out to support him. "We are in a new era of politics with Javier Milei, which is why these options are appearing. It's not common for a pastor to run, but it seems to me there's a search for a new leader in some sectors of politics," said Marcos Carbonelli, a doctor in Social Sciences and author of the book Evangelicals in Argentine Politics, on Cara o Ceca. "The evangelical Christian movement is growing in Latin America at the expense of Christianity; its discourse is based on experience and emotionality. It better resonates with the times," he added. "Milei has an anti-caste discourse, anger, and rejection of the other. In contrast, Gebel leans more towards serenity and consensus, but it remains to be seen what he can propose economically or in terms of security," he concluded.
